Emergency Permits for the Sea-dumping of Spoilt Cargo

Regulations covering the disposal of spoilt cargo at sea are extremely onerous and reflect the need to protect the marine environment. The current protocol to the London Dumping Convention (LDC), effectively bans all dumping at sea unless a Permit is specifically obtained.

Our close association with the development and implementation of the International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) ‘Guidance on Managing Spoilt Cargoes’, has placed our company in the unique position of being able to develop a complete and versatile sea dumping system that strictly follows this Guidance. This programme enables our company to offer a competitively priced and environmentally safe alternative to the unregulated disposal of spoilt cargoes. Our strict adherence to the LDC, Protocol and Marpol Annex V, ensures that we address the myriad of requirements that are essential in the obtaining of the necessary Permit.

All documentation , including our application for the Permit, is completed in accordance with the aforementioned Conventions and sent to the relevant Regulatory Authority. We also provide the essential Independent Monitoring and ensure that all post operation documentation is passed to the Authorities.
